On January 13, 1966, a fire occurred in the premises occupied by plaintiff-respondent, the Congress Bar and Restaurant, Inc.,
at 109 and 111 West Main street in Madison. All business of the corporation ceased as of the day of the fire. At the time of the fire, plaintiff was insured by the respective defendants under seven separate standard form fire insurance
policies. A business-interruption endorsement was attached to and made a part of each policy. The policies were substantially
identical in form, differing only in the amount of coverage. The combined policy limits totaled $95,000. Each policy contained
a 60 percent co-insurance provision and a loss proration clause. Insofar as is material to this appeal each policy provided:
